Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi River on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia, is one of the great natural wonders of the world and the adventure capital of southern Africa. A Plus Travel compares fares from UK airports to Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) for holidays, honeymoons and safari combinations.
There is no direct UK flight. Most journeys connect through Johannesburg, Addis Ababa or Harare and take roughly 13 to 20 hours. You can also fly into Livingstone in Zambia and cross the border, and we can quote either side. See our guides to flying to Harare and flying to Lusaka if you are planning a longer southern Africa trip.
February to May is high water, when the spray and noise are at their most dramatic. September to December is low water, better for swimming at Devil's Pool on the Zambian side and for wildlife along the river. June to August is cooler and dry.
Walk the rainforest trails beside the falls, take a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, try a helicopter flight or white-water rafting, or add a day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana.
UK passport holders can usually buy a Zimbabwe visa on arrival, and the KAZA UniVisa covers day visits across the border to Zambia. US dollars are widely used. Rules change, so we confirm requirements when we quote, and you should check the latest FCDO advice before you travel.
